Rewarding opportunity to take the lead of a prestigious forensic toxicology team, both technically and operationally!
In this diverse laboratory-based role, you will manage a broad range of forensic toxicology projects and Scientists in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. The laboratory is exceptionally well equipped, with a wide range of LC-MS(/MS) systems (including accurate mass), GC-MS’s, and the recent introduction of Hamilton robotics. You will oversee all technical aspects of studies and take the lead in novel method development, validation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Alongside your technical role, you will lead a team of ca. 6 direct reports, for whom you will oversee day to lab laboratory activities and welfare including training, mentoring, giving direction and data checking/peer reviewing work.
You will also have the opportunity to undertake LEAN projects, continuously striving to improve laboratory operations and provide the best possible quality lab service.
We are seeking a passionate and inspirational scientist who has:
* A strong background in small molecule LC-MS (8+ years in industry)
* Experience working within a regulated lab environment (ideally ISO17025, GLP or GMP)
* The ability to develop novel robust methods and be confident in method transfer, validation and troubleshooting
* Confidence to lead/supervise a small team of Analysts and Senior Analysts
