An established e-commerce business with world class sports, fitness, healthcare and PPE websites needs a Web Designer / Developer to help it launch its next wave of top level websites. The business has been established for 12 years and has enviable rankings across all search engines.

The role is office based in Clapham, Central London. 

The business needs you to design and develop stunning websites that are intuitive and frictionless to use. A natural appreciation of UX and UI best practice is essential.

Maintaining and enhancing its current portfolio of websites is also part of the brief. 

Building remarketing template emails to communicate effectively with its vast customer base provides a further opportunity to flex your creative skills.

Experience of hosted ecommerce platforms and template systems such as Bluepark and EKM is essential. 

What Will the Role Include? 

Designing spectacular ecommerce websites with a focus on UX and UI
Front end coding to build and modify templates and blocks using HTML, CSS, JQuery and Javascript
Mobile, tablet and desktop responsive website creation
Enhancing existing websites with design and functionality improvements
Building remarketing email templates on Mailchimp
Collaborating with in-house creatives to design logos, slideshow images and branding for new and existing websites
Streamlining web design and development practices to optimise project delivery times
Taking part in creative team meetings focusing on content and website creation
Further ad hoc responsibilities
What Are We Looking For?

What we need in a candidate:

Previous website design and development experience using template platforms/systems
High level HTML, CSS, JQuery amd Javascript skills
High level Photoshop skills
Experience using the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite of products (e.g. Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign)
Excellent communication skills – capable of generating and exchanging design oriented ideas
A focus on usability, UX and UI with a determination to improve website conversions through intuitive and frictionless design
Marketing skills – an understanding of what customers want and need to see
Branding skills – the ability to implement design features/accents throughout the websites for consistency and impact
Design consistency – consistency of colours and icons to encourage and assist the user through their purchasing journey
Accuracy and attention to detail – the ability to balance a website, align text, check spelling, ensure padding is even and use negative space effectively
Fluency in English
