Our client is a global Freight Forwarder with a 45 year history. Their turnover is more than £1 billion per annum, and they have 1,600 people globally across 100+ offices.
In the UK, they currently have 150 staff across 5 offices, with the main location in the Dartford office, south of the river.
This location is their global centre, with the CEO, CFO and global directors all based there.
They have retained our services to recruit a Senior Sales Executive / Sales Manager, with the view that this person will become the UK Commercial Manager in the next 2 years.
Starting salary will be in the region of £60-65k depending on your experience, plus car allowance and bonuses based on your success. You will also receive a contributory pension, private healthcare, life insurance and death in service benefits.
Initially you would be expected to work in the office for at least 2 days a week, so location should be a consideration.
Ideally you will have at least 5 years' experience as a successful multimodal Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager / Sales Executive, who can bring quality business and has provable billings.
Oil & gas is the main market for this organisation providing 80% of their business globally. In fact they currently have 35% of the UK market share.
However, this role has been created to help drive new business across new verticals that could include:
construction / automotive / retail (they have strong real-time tracking systems) / renewables & green
They are not interested in reefer / chilled / pharma etc.
Initial expectations for this role are that you should to cover your year 1 costs, meaning targets are very realistic. However, this role is not for those who want to spend 1-2 years winning a blue chip client. You should be able to bring strong revenue in your first few months.
To support you in this, they have a huge 4 acre site with a fully bonded warehouse, and their own road freight capabilities offering 150 of their own trailers. Their core freight offering globally is Air & Sea Freight, across all continents, meaning you will have an incredible network and fantastically competitive rates to offer to your clients.
You will sit on a global sales committee as the regional UK contact and deal globally across 5 continents, and in the future it is anticipated you will have several Sales Executives in a team underneath you to help support your goals and growth.
