As the Finance Assistant you will support the Accounts Department & Financial Controller in all aspects of the daily input of accounting information & the production & maintenance of accurate & timely accounting records.

* Balance sheet control account reconciliations: HP & long term liabilities controls, Sundry Creditors & Creditors.

* Debtors: Management of credit balances & Creditors: Management of credit balances.

* Monthly account analysis - P&L overhead codes - monthly analysis & checking of expenditure.

* Freight: Management of freight recharged to customer v costs incurred – robust process to be implemented

* Deposit account - manage deposits invoiced & paid & stage billing reconciliations.

* Customer Project Accounts: Updating & Reconciliation’s (McPhillips, CM Processing etc.)

* Goods Received Not Invoiced Maintenance & Control.

* Expenses: Checking & entering onto ERP system.

* Credit Card - check & reconcile & post to IFS.

* Aged Debtor reporting & debtor/creditor day analysis.

* Supplier Statement Reconciliations.

* Departmental Improvements: Electronic filing of data, departmental efficiencies - look into processes & procedures i.e. supplier credit note process, electronic expenses.

* Cover for Accounts Receivable / Credit control / Accounts Payable when required.


AAT qualified.


Experience of working in a busy finance team, preferably for a manufacturing SME, covering all aspects of the general accounts administration functions such as Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable as well as extensive experience of performing reconciliations, balance sheet control account reconciling, account analysis / expenditure analysis as well as cashbook & expenses. Proven business improvement skills desirable. Good Excel & ERP system experience essential.

39 hours basic week, Monday - Thursday - 08.30 - 17.00 Friday - 8.30 - 16.00
