Procurement Manager

Roles and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs
Manage staff within the procurement department to ensure they achieve
Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications
Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures
Control inventory levels and ensure availability of material during emergencies
Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates
Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers
Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.
Assist in forecasting to plan future orders and project delivery
Work with the Contracts team, and Estimating Department to co-ordinate tenders and bids
Performing risk and value management and cost control for all orders
Advise and implement a clear procurement strategy for all operational needs on various projects and supply only works
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
Implementing and compiling all quality control documentation
Deliver continuous improvement in supplier delivery, quality and cost
Ensure timely receipt of materials to support the operations teams
Schedule material demands and work order completion dates in system to support production schedule
Proactively manage material and work order exceptions and provide feedback to operations staff
Support contracts in the co-ordination of orders / client applications for works undertaken
Ensure accuracy of data in system including location, quantity on hand, value, etc
Create procedures and reporting for the effective management of the procurement department
Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement
Perform other duties as assigned to insure the efficiency of the company

General:

Strong and clear communication skills
Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks
Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs
Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management
Delegating tasks and supervising the work of all procurement staff
Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results
Leading a team of staff and delegate tasks across departments when necessary
Managing overall direction, coordination and evaluation of procurement for the organisation
Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business
Creating policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation
