Red Rock Consultants are working with an Engineering client who specialise in delivering highly sophisticated mechanical and electrical installations to the Automotive industry.

They are now looking for ­­­a Commissioning/Mechanical Fitter to help support their Lean Manufacturing division, focusing on Bespoke assembly machinery, design and manufacturing, Poke Yoke assembly benches with integrated automation systems, Mechanical jigs and fixtures, robot cells and production cells.

The Role

* Mechanical aluminium extrusion frame assembly

* Interpretation of mechanical drawings for constructions of machines

* Mechanical construction of machinery tools and measuring and validation of assembly

* Validation of mechanical tooling assembly using measuring arms

* Rework of tooling parts, using milling machine, lathes and workshop tools

* General workshop tasks

* Pneumatics and sensors installation of all machine tools

* Assembly of robot grippers and installation of robot tooling

* Assembly and fitting of production machines

* Commissioning / Development of machines alongside the software / electrical engineer

* Site installations and providing technical support at side where needed

* Compiling installation and setting reports for all projects

* Identifying points of failure on all tooling and machine assemblies

The Candidate

* Completion of a recognised qualification or time served trade apprenticeship.

* Good time keeping and ability to self-manage tasks in line with the build program.

* Mechanical fitting and assembly experience.

* Demonstrate ability to understand and create Engineering drawings

* Demonstrate use of all types of machinery

* Demonstrate Competency in tool makers machinery

* Competent in all types of mechanical assembly work

* Demonstrate knowledge of all types of materials and their use

* Demonstrate an understanding of Quality Procedures

* Demonstrate Health and Safety Awareness

* Understand Method Statements and Risk Assessments

* Very good team player

* Experience of working in the automation industry and bespoke machinery

* Competent in commissioning machinery and problem solving

* Previous experiences in development of Ultrasonic weld machines, Robot machines and assembly cells

* Ability to learn and develop skills with new technologies.
