Accountant / Bookkeeper – £35,000 per annum pro rata – Billericay, Essex – Part-Time, Permanent

Hours: 3 days per week, 9-5 on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

T J Hammond Transport is a leading transport and logistics company based in Essex, delivering excellence to their customers throughout the UK and Europe. We are an established company with offices on the outskirts of Billericay.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an AAT qualified (minimum) Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our office-based finance department on a Part Time basis.

Role responsibilities – Accountant / Bookkeeper:

You will be operating Sage 50 accounting software to import sales invoices via CSV to Sage, sending monthly customer statements, updating debtor reports and chasing debts. Experience in customer on-boarding and understanding credit reports is preferred.

In addition to the credit control function you will prepare and monitor cashflow & cashflow forecasting, submit quarterly VAT returns and monthly ONS information. You will be required to produce monthly management accounts, reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, posting journals and assisting with yearly budgeting and variance analysis.

When required you will manage and maintain HR admin including new starters, attendance records and cover weekly payroll (Payroll Manager).

Person Specification:

Minimum AAT Qualification.
Sage 50 experience essential.
Due to our location, you must have your own transport.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Highly numerical with strong attention to detail.
Organised, proactive and flexible, adaptable to changes.
A cheerful happy disposition is essential.
Good work history and checkable references.
Honesty and discretion when handling financial information.
Professional communication skills and a positive can-do attitude.
Strong customer care skills are essential.
HR admin experience is ideal.
Experience with People HR an advantage.
Experience within the logistics industry an advantage.
