Head Chef- Tunbridge Wells
Monday to Friday 11.00- 18.00

If you're a Head Chef who is looking for a new challenge or refreshing change of scene, then we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for someone who can take our restaurant to the next level, and support our current kitchen team in their development, too.

If you are eager to continue your learning, and understand the benefits and necessity of hearing regular feedback, then we'll provide the support and training you need to step confidently into the position of Head Chef Tunbridge Wells

You'll have the crucial ability to bring out the best in your section chefs, and work with them to have smoother, more organised services that are perfectly catered to our customer/patients' needs. You'll have an excellent knowledge of allergens and nutrition and be able to follow medical direction for certain patients' needs. In return we'll support you in your development of new skills, ways of cooking and leadership qualities that will help you and your team thrive.

General skills
As Head Chef you will have:

* Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of all sections
* An understanding of produce and ingredients
* The ability to write menus that are both creative and profitable
* Strong organisational skills
* An ability to work unsupervised and consistently deliver quality work, and to monitor your own performance and that of your colleagues/team
* Experience of a variety of kitchen environments and cuisines
* A good working knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) at all levels
* Knowledge of food production methods
* Strong numeracy and budget management skills
* The ability to learn and use a computer and the main software packages competently
* Good oral communication, knowing how to efficiently and effectively communicate well with all staff members and managers

Qualifications/Licences/Certifications
Essential
* Competent level of English spoken and written
* Health and safety and food hygiene certificates, including Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH)
* Awareness of manual handling techniques
* Experience in using dangerous kitchen equipment safely and experience supervising and training others in their use
