Seven Social Care is looking for an Occupational Therapist to work within Stoke-On-Trents Adult Social Care, Health Integration and Wellbeing Service.

Pay rate - £30 per hour.

The Occupational Therapist within the Social Care Occupational Therapy Service will have responsibility for the assessment of people with a disability and provide the appropriate recommendations in order to assist in the Department's statutory obligations under current legislation.

This may include advice, provision of equipment, adaptations to the home and/or referral to other agencies. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the management of a caseload.

The role:

To make individual home visits to assess needs.

To discuss with clients and carers to support and advise on appropriate action.

To liaise with appropriate professionals and agencies to gather specialist information.

To have up to date knowledge of daily living equipment and be proficient in the instruction and demonstration of this equipment.

To teach and develop daily living skills to enable Service Users to attain maximum functional independence.

To recommend, design and monitor the process for provision of adaptations in consultation with the service user.

We need a capable, experienced support workers; who are aware of safeguarding process and can use common sense when dealing with incidents. Proactive in their work alongside a good work ethic.

Good communication skills, being able to deliver information clearly and accurately in writing and verbally. Is accountable for their actions and honest when questioned about situations that arise, along with integrity and can work as a team. Share information with colleagues and care coordinators in a timely manner, and not keep vital information to themselves.

Have a can do attitude in order to assist with any help colleagues may have and cover for those who are on leave without having an attitude and feeling they do not need to participate in what is required for the good of the service.
