Based in the North Manchester, our client is a manufacturing organisation who is seeking an individual to join their Project team as an Engineering Project Manager. The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for coordinating all non-standard orders. You will manage the project from initiation to completion utilising all the project information to ensure future projects are more productive and cost-efficient.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Taking ownership of all non-standard jobs, assessing all the materials and resources needed. Where necessary communicate with Purchasing, Special Projects, and Production for action.
Updating project orders on the schedule and dispensing project information to relevant departments
Organising meetings with other departments where necessary to gather all information required for specific projects.
Consulting with the Design Team for drawings and creating schedules (where necessary) for multi-product roll out jobs.
Consulting with clients to organise delivery and answering any production/installation queries on projects under your care.
Updating clients on order progress.
Informing the quality department of any issues on jobs your team are overseeing.
Organising deliveries, site surveys and installation details including RAMS & Method Statements.
Monitoring projects going through the factory, ensuring stock and resources are in place to meet delivery deadlines.
Highlighting any issues which may need intervention to resolve and to keep all relevant parties up to date on any changes to orders.
Updating and managing projects budgets. Ensuring that all extra costs are logged and re-charged to the customers (if necessary) and reporting back to the Account Manager of any variations in estimates vs actual costs, especially for when projects are expected to be repeatedly ordered.
Managing / coordinating any project related site surveys, off-site installations, or rectifications, including organising RAMS to clients or third-party personnel where required.
Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with Sales, Design, Procurement, and the Project team.
Consulting with the Despatch department regarding any special packaging or delivery requirements.
Discussing with Design any issues, improvements, and extra client requirements.
Actively seeking to reduce material and/or associated labour costs on items manufactured for roll out.
Ensuring all export jobs are double checked before despatch.
Being fully informed and up to speed on all installations, off site work and rectification jobs.
Ensuring ISO 9001 is adhered to.
Ensuring the smooth running of the company’s quality procedures and systems and to maintain, encourage and develop the company ethos of producing high quality products.
Ensuring all work carried is in accordance with current H&S standards.
Undertaking any training required to help you perform your job to the best possible standard.
We are looking for a Manager or Senior Coordinator that has experience of working in a fast-paced production or planning role with an understanding of fabrication methods and material processing. Manufacturing or engineering industry knowledge is essential along with the ability to understand CAD drawings. You must be highly organised with the ability to multi-task and work in a calm and professional manner when working under pressure. An excellent telephone manner and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels with both clients and internally is essential. A solid working knowledge of all the MS Office packages is required, with a particular necessity for a high level of Excel expertise. You must be a strong team player with good problem- solving ability, have a can-do attitude and a proactive approach. Good negotiation skills are also required
