Business Development Engineer West/South Yorkshire & Humber
My client are a privately owned instrumentation and engineering company, they have built an envied reputation within the UK Process Industry sectors for technical knowledge, customer service and customer satisfaction – They Partner with the leading instrumentation manufacturers and leverage extensive in-house manufacturing, assembly and service facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work with External Sales & Product Management Team to plan geographical coverage, drive account penetration and maximise profitable, sustainable growth within and emanating from West & South Yorkshire & Humber
* Extensive use of the telephone, email system and social media to contact existing and new Companies and contacts in order to generate new requirements and opportunities
* Scheduling appointments where absolutely necessary, both for self and/or for the External Management Team
* Follow strategic plan to achieve sales targets and to expand the company’s customer base
* Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships towards trusted partner status
* Maximise growth by understanding customer business needs and objectives
* Effectively communicate the value proposition through discussions, proposals and presentations
* Drive sales excellence and promote activity to reduce knowledge gaps and unknowns within development/focus accounts
* Complete additional tasks in order to meet departmental, development or company objectives
KEY OBJECTIVES
* Own and hit/exceed personal sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
* Proactively seek opportunities to optimise sales, manufacturing and service revenue streams
* Effectively represent the company ethos when attending customer visits, conferences and trade shows
* Regular use of Teams platform with customers and colleagues
* Prepare & submit reports for sales and marketing opportunities as and when requested
* Help the company to achieve all Sales KPI’s and metrics
* Maintain the highest levels of communication between internal colleagues and
* Exceed customer service levels whilst working within company Ethics, SOP’s & QA procedures
KNOWLEDGE
* Knowledge of process instrumentation and regional market sectors is essential
EXPERIENCE
* Experience as a technical field sales professional with a proven track record in achieving sales growth is essential
SKILLS
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organisation
* Proven ability to articulate the differentiating aspects of Products & Services against competitors
* Demonstrable experience in developing customer-focused, Value-Added and achievable solutions
* Strong technical, organisational, communication, analytical, presentation and team-working skills
* Resilience to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with attention to detail

* Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others
