Avenue are currently recruiting a Manufacturing and Test Engineer for a well-established client.

Role Requirements

Qualified to degree level in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
5+ years' experience of complex manufacturing environments.

Manage and perform the final assembly of prototype, pre-production and production products.
Including the development of assembly procedures for internal and external use.
Train subcontract manufacturing partners using these procedures.
Manage and perform pre-shipment software and firmware configuration for all products.
Manage and perform pre-shipment system test.
Manage system and physical quality control of products pre-shipment.
Manage and maintain accurate records of R&D and customer products at system and subsystem level.
Work with the Operations Manager to maintain commodity manufacturing materials.
Work with the R&D team to ensure design for manufacturing strategies are implements for new products.
Manage safety and standards (CE) approvals with 3rd party partners.
Develop and implement system and sub-system test procedures for all products. ? Train subcontract manufacturing partners using these procedures.

* Operations

Maintain and calibrate all laboratory equipment.
Manage and maintain return merchandise authorization (RMA) procedures.
Manage and maintain the company's quality assurance report.
Design, implement and document on or off-site reliability testing, including the use of physical and thermal stress testing.
Support the Operations Manager to continually assess subcontractor performance.
Consult with the Operations Manager on continual operational process improvements.

Research & Development
Liaise with the R&D Team to align manufacture testing with overall product verification strategy.
Ensuring the delivery of qualification and verification data to support accreditation and certification.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Additional Beneficial Skills

Specific experience of Telecommunication / Data Communication product test.
Fibre optic systems.
Physical and thermal stress testing systems.
Automated test development using Python or other programmatic languages.
An understanding of FPGA-based product architectures and VHDL/Verilog language syntax.
Knowledge of telecoms framing structures (OTN, SONET/SDH, PDH) would be helpful, as would knowledge of packet (Ethernet) structures.
