Beehive Recruitment is on the lookout for a Purchaser in the Doncaster area. We are working with an Engineering company who work in the Automotive conversion industry.

Summary

The Purchaser is responsible for purchasing the best quality goods and services, at the most competitive prices to enable the company to operate efficiently and effectively. They must build strong working relationships with suppliers and have an in-depth knowledge of the goods and services that they are buying. They are required to monitor and control materials and liaise with management on any requirement/demand and lead time issues that could affect the company's production. Whilst maintaining an effective and efficient purchasing system and sound financial controls.

Typical Job Functions & Duties

Raising and receiving approval of all purchase orders in line with company ordering policy.
Liaising with suppliers regarding orders, pricing and lead times.
Ordering materials required in a timely and efficient manner and in line with company ordering policy.
Ensuring that there is sufficient stock to meet requirements and build dates.
Ensuring Emax filters are checked daily and any issues resolved.
Checking PRE MRP Filter in-line with QMS.
Providing forecasts to suppliers.
Attending daily huddle, to liaise with production supervisors on any stock issues and production deadlines/problems.
Produce monthly MI in timely and efficient manner.
Working with company accountant on setting up new supplier accounts, including contracts and terms agreed.
Maintain and ensure accurate records are kept on file including supplier performance and contracts.
Ensure monthly processing deadline is met.
Regularly review the costs and quality on parts and supplier performance to ensure the best supplies are used by the company.
Regular supplier meetings in line with proposed supplier review plan.
Maintain log of price savings.
Review and maintain sound internal controls and develop, improve the current systems where necessary.
Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when required.

Skills & Attributes

Excellent communication skills and a professional manner.

Ability to establish good relationships with suppliers.

Recognised Purchasing qualification. - Desirable

Knowledge and experience of computers and I.T Systems including Microsoft and advanced Excel

Knowledge and experience of purchasing functions and internal controls.

Capable of managing own workload and meeting deadline.

A team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn
