Do you have extensive Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) experience and a track record of electrical safety? Do you have a desire to use that knowledge to provide advice and leadership that helps keep families safe? If so, we want you Bromford.

We are passionate about providing homes and growing communities where customers feel safe and proud to live. Not just a home but somewhere that enables them to thrive.

As M&E Business Lead your task will be embedding legislative requirements, as well as providing guidance and expert advice in M&E workstreams (including Lift and Electrical Safety regulations). You’ll be responsible for the alignment of compliance matters in your specialist area. Establishing a strategy for delivering and monitoring the governance framework, ensuring procedures and appropriate training is in place. A key part of this will be checking and assessing proposed changes in new legislation and codes of practice for relevance to policy and governance.

Day to day consulting with key stakeholders on matters of compliance and statutory requirements will be vital, and strong communication skills will help in managing and supporting the first line of business assurance and audit. You will supervise consultants and contractors carrying out compliance activity for Bromford, investigating incidents of non-compliance. Ultimately ensuring remedial action gets identified and counter measures implemented to minimise the potential for re-occurrence.

As part of the Bromford team, you will play a vital role in helping us provide safe, secure, and warm housing to over 100,000 people. But working with us is about more than putting a roof over someone’s head. It’s about building trust through your daily actions. Working together to enable all people in our communities to achieve more, chase their ambitions and build a brighter future for themselves.

This role is permanent, full time and subject to a basic DBS check. You can be based at any of our main offices: Wolverhampton (WV10 6TB), Tewkesbury (GL20 8ND) or Chipping Sodbury (BS37 6JX) with regular home working available. It is essential that you have a full UK driving licence.

You will be someone who has:

A specialist qualification in electrical safety, or lift management, to enable you to lead in this area of expertise
In-depth expert knowledge of legal standards and regulatory requirements
Proven experience of managing compliance-related activity at a senior/specialist level
Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record-keeping
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Excellent communication skills, comfortable building relationships and working as part of a wider team
To be comfortable working on call out, if required
Experience of leading a team of this sizeIf you have previous experience as a compliance business lead, compliance leader, compliance manager, or something similar, it would be great to hear from you.

The closing date is Monday 24 January with interviews taking place Monday 31 January 2022
