Interim Procurement Manager - Directs Category

key focus on working across ingredients and packaging portfolio!

Remote/Hybrid working if required

Travel to HQ in Buckinghamshire if required

£300 – £500 per day interim rate guide

6-month minimum contract could be extended

Creating & implementing a Procurement Category Strategy for the ingredient’s portfolio - £multi-Millions
Understand and analyse current contractual arrangements
Quickly form an understanding of the current Supply Market relevant to the category
Creation of robust contracts, working with the Legal team & key stakeholders to complete or adapt standard contract documentation
Ongoing management of suppliers against agreed SLAs & KPIs to drive compliance & performance, including coordination & management of regular supplier reviews
You will liaise with key suppliers, developing relationships which maximise the opportunity for cost reduction, process, quality & service improvements.
Identify and deliver Continuous Cost Improvement opportunities
Collaborating cross functionally to participate in optimization projects in terms of cost, quality, service and innovation
Use reporting tools and communicate on the progress of projects to ensure successful execution of procurement strategies
Manage supplier performance against agreed objectives
Lead selected projects for the Directs category Define and build long term sourcing strategies
Evaluate and implement cost savings ideas to achieve budgets, define and lead local and regional procurement projects that will lead to savings/efficiencies
Drive Responsible Sourcing Strategy and program plan with suppliers
Optimize working capital through best practice raw materials inventory management.
Develop alternate supply sources and identify cost reduction opportunities

Is this you?

Demonstrable number of years’ experience in a Procurement role, preferably within a food, FMCG or related environment
Background in ingredients sourcing preferred, naturally
Excellent knowledge of category management, supplier sourcing & management, cost analysis & negotiation
Degree educated with professional CIPS qualification being preferable
Experience of at least 5 years in a procurement position, preferably in direct procurement categories for an FMCG or related manufacturing company
Confident and change orientated, and comfortable within a matrix management structure
Competent in the use of Excel, Power Point and SAP
Good negotiation, communication skills and entrepreneurial style
Proven negotiation results with significant experience in a dynamic sourcing environment
Stand-alone role – no direct reports – could be in/outside of scope
Direct materials, ingredients - doesn't necessarily need to be food but components like engineering manufacturing also
