I have an incredible opportunity for a Production Engineer to join a brand new site in the Melton Mowbray area. They have plans to have manufacturing running by September and previous to this they will be appointing a number of different roles within the business. For this next vacancy you will be joining a new team and will have an incredible input into the development of your team and processes on site. The company have been established in the UK for over 100 years and the new site will compliment a number of existing manufacturing plants they have throughout the UK. They are paying a salary circa to £40k to £45k with Car Allowance or Company Car Options, Bonus Scheme, Healthcare and much more.

Summary of the Production Engineer role:

Ensure manufacturing outputs achieve the contractual commitments, within budget and on programme.

Ensure product quality specifications comply with the appropriate standards, specifications, and drawings. Create and manage production schedules to meet contractual obligations whilst maximising the facility output. Coordination of project information from the office and the workshop team.

Responsibilities of the Production Engineer:

Promote a Safety-First culture.
Set and achieve high quality standards in all facets of the manufacturing phase.
Coordinating the project information from the office to the workshop team.
Reviewing workshop drawings and procuring relevant materials as required.
Creating and maintaining production schedules in order to achieve the contractual program while maintaining a budget for the project.
Creating work method statements, inspection and test plans, reports, and other documentation.
Providing strong and effective cross-functional links and communication between all departments.
Assisting the QSE team in ensuring the product quality meets the project specifications.
Liaise with the client representatives on product quality and product deliveries to the site.
Management of external suppliers and subcontractors as required.
Supervise processes to ensure that quality work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Assist in improving the efficiency and quality of prod. processes and procedures within all areas of manufacturing.
Engage with manufacturing teams in change management processes and drive a continuous improvement culture
Ensure unsafe practices are reported and fully investigated with all documentation completed in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot any faults or problems in the production line and identify areas for improvement or training

In return the Production Engineer will require the following:

Experienced Production Engineer
Construction/Concrete background preferred but other industrial heavy industries considered
An excellent understanding of reading engineering drawings
Have hands on experience with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes
Excellent MS Office experience with advanced Excel skills
Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma certification is highly desirable
