We are seeking an experienced FMCG account manager for a client of ours who supplies their product throughout the UK.

Working as part of a high-performing team, the successful candidate will have full P&L responsibility for their portfolio of customers, lead in developing their channel in line with Business Strategy and meet with agreed Annual Performance Objectives, including financial, business development, and personal development KPI’s.

Role & Responsibilities:

* Manage a portfolio of existing customers, specifically to understand and communicate their requirements within the business so that relevant products and services can be proposed.

* Developing and pro-actively managing a new business prospect contact plan.

* Build and maintain account plans for each major customer including elements such as category plans, market analysis, consumer insight and new product developments.

* Propose New Product Developments to customers that are fit for purpose for customer needs by co-ordinating with support functions, e.g. Technical, Business Development and Procurement.

* Where appropriate, develop and maintain customer pricing models ensuring that changes in raw materials and exchange rates are reflected in the pricing structure and group profitability is maintained.

* Working in conjunction with the Customer Support Manager to develop appropriate marketing materials including catalogues, customer presentations and promotional activity.

* Attend trade exhibitions and trade association meetings to develop a network of industry contacts.

* Prepare management information reports for both customer and internal use.

* Work with the Customer Service team to maintain customer forecasts to an agreed level of accuracy and customer service in-bound targets.

The candidate:

This role is ideal for candidates currently working within a wholesale/B2B FMCG environment, seeking a new challenge with a progressive employer with a clear business agenda for growth.

In particular we are interested to hear from candidates who are able to offer the following skills and experience:

* Successful track record of developing long-term customer relationships within a Commercial FMCG role.

* Experience in selling into the Retail GNFR, Wholesale/Cash & Carry, or Professional Distributor Networks.

* Track record of developing profitable new business in line with budgeted targets.

* Strong communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills with an emphasis on win / win outcomes.

* Highly motivated self-starter with a passion and drive to succeed.

* Experience in NPD and marketing.

* Competent using Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook, Powerpoint, & Excel
