Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence. On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Project Lead for a 12 month contract based in Derby.
Purpose of the Role:
Project Lead will take responsibility for the delivery of small projects or workstreams within a larger project.
Accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time for a defined package of work.As a Project Lead you will be responsible for:
Act as the focal point for all aspects related to the packages of work.
Provide information necessary to make management decisions to the key stakeholders.
Ensure the creation and management of an integrated set of plans / schedules.
Organize and chair schedule review meetings and report areas where executive decisions need to be made.
Ensure the implementation of company management processes is effective and efficient.
Develop / implement Project Management best practice in line with company management processes.
Provision of basic guidance to others regarding the Project Management processes and the operation of the project management systems / tools / methods.What we require from the candidate:
Experience of working in a variety of project roles in projects of limited complexity with personal accountability for Quality, Time, Cost and Performance elements.
Experience of working with Integrated Master Schedules / Costs and earned value management methodologies.
Working towards or ideally have accredited / membership level of externally recognised Project Management Professional Bodies (e.g. APM, PMI).
Experience in multiple stages of a project lifecycle and has been responsible for the delivery of one or more of these stages.
Proven people and stakeholder skills at all levels of an organisation.
Experience in delivering limited complexity projects having worked in most of the phases of these and able to demonstrate their influence on the outcome/delivery (Ideally).
Exposure to non-core project management roles such as purchasing, commercial, engineering management etc. Proven ability to lead and train in all aspects of Project/ Programme Management competences.If you are interested in applying for this position and meet the criteria outlined above, please click the link to apply and we will contact you with an update in due course.
