Location: Cambridge (CB4)
Duration: initial 3 month contract, possible extension and permanent transfer
Hours: 9am - 5pm, flexible (Monday to Friday)
Salary: around £30 per hour, flexible depending on experience

Polytec are looking for an experienced Mechanical Designer for our Cambridge based client.

Responsibilities:

* Design complex systems and devices using SolidWorks
* Work closely with the Mechanical Engineers to develop design solutions
* Follow processes to ensure quality is designed into all products and identify opportunities for improvements
* Produce, control and maintain all required design documentation

Requirements:

* Experience in tooling design
* HNC/HND in mechanical or production engineering
* Proven experience of small scale materials handling and mechanism design
* A natural problem solving ability
* A creative and inquisitive approach to the design process
* An understanding of the processes involved with the design of systems
* A completer / finisher approach to the design process
* Proficient in the use of SolidWorks
* An understanding of machining processes
