Three times Queens Award winners, we have invented a patented new method of 3D printing and manufacture our own 3D printers, resins, clear stamps and export all over the world. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Senior Software Engineer to use your skills and knowledge to drive projects through the development process from initial research to manufacturing and production. You will be part of the R&D team to work with products and software that will change the world.
Key responsibilities of our Lead Software Engineer
Define and lead development of our bespoke 3D printer control system and related software
Lead development of the front-end and back-end of industrial software systems, including the analysis of business requirements, definition acceptance criteria, and management of releases
Work closely with the engineering and sales teams to deliver bespoke software solutions
Produce documentation and software release information to production and validation teams
Identify and manage outsourcing opportunities where appropriate
Ensure that software is designed and implemented in a maintainable fashion, and follows established industry practices

Skills and experience required of our Lead Software Engineer
Experienced with all stages of the software development life cycle
Proven experience in a similar role
Ideally experience of managing a project through to success
Experienced with the design of event-driven systems and APIs
Architect a data-focussed ecosystem of connected industrial devices
Ideally knowledge of industrial automation concepts and technologies (e.g. Industry 4.0, OPC UA, MQTT) and hold an active interest in the wider manufacturing industr
Familiar with IoT devices and concepts would be an advantage
Genuine interest in 3d printing
Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a mindset to explore new technologies
