Job Title: Buyer
Location: Westbury
Salary: Up to £25,000 DoE
Full Time Role / Permanent
Monday – Friday Role
This role is for one of the UK’s leading companies for design, manufacture, and installation of audience seating, exporting worldwide! They are known though out the industry for their high-quality products and outstanding delivery. They are also known for putting a strong emphasis on ensuring all products are made to the highest standard while being safely maintained through out their lifetime.
The individual who would fit the Buyer position would be responsible for the cost affective and timely purchase of materials, components, and products to specifications, to meet individual project needs.
Main Responsibilities
* You would need to negotiate and manage the execution of supplier contract and ensuring adherence to the agreed service levels, prices, and payment terms
* Establish and maintain long term relationships with suppliers, and regularly review their performance on a quarterly basis, to ensure best value
* Proactively provide support and back up for critical suppliers
* Update and manage internal data base systems
* Updating the Monthly Cost Revisions on Sage
* Conduct Supplier Visits and complete Visit reports
* Ensure compliance with quality and H & S processes
* Act on and manage nonconformance reports when required
* Always maintain an excellent level of customer service across the business to develop positive working relationships
* Collation of Supplier Certifications
* Proactively monitor and analyse trends in spend with suppliers, and make recommendations to the business as appropriate
Main Requirements
* Engineering qualification or background, together with significant experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
* Commercial acumen, with proven negotiation skills and supplier management ability
* Will have a CIPS qualification (ideally)
* You will need strong organizational skills, with experience of making decisions and driving through improvements
* The ability to work effectively in a small team
* Clear and effective communication skills, written and verbal
* Proficient user of SAGE would be an advantage
