Apply on Partner SiteAs In-house recruiters for DENSO Marston a large multi-national manufacturing organisation based in Shipley, West Yorkshire we are looking for an PLC Technician work on a day shift. The role will involve the support of all site PLC biased activities including reactive breakdowns (fast fault finding), preventative maintenance and replacement/upgrading of obsolete systems to maintain the manufacturing machinery in order for the Company’s to produce quality products in a safe and timely for its customers.
Working Hours/Benefits
Mon-Thurs 7:30am – 4pm, Fri – 7:30am – 12:30am

Key Skills of the Electrical Technician
Respond safely and appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations, which develop in the work environment. Ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that impact the business.
Assist the team to deliver departmental KPI’s – MTBF, MTTR and reduce outstanding work.
Deliver right first time, 100% quality repairs whenever possible
Generate new work orders when further work is required if a temporary repair is made due to availability of the machine, spare parts, skills etc
Make recommendations to prevent re-occurrence of breakdowns where possible.
Provide technical support using your expertise but also considering the machine, material, man and method aspects.
Reduce the learning curve by communicating with experienced technicians, looking at the machine database information, speaking to external experts and OEM’s to minimize downtime.
Communicate to your supervisor any modifications to programs so that all the copies are the same
Attend departmental meetings with team members to discuss projects, issues, team briefings etc.Skills / Abilities
Knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures, and terms.
Excellent methodical fault finding .
Outside the box thinking to expedite breakdown resolution – ie finding the best expert to help when there is not enough resource on site ie information, skill, hardware, parts, software, new supplier, overseas supplier etc.
Project management with an emphasis to improve machine supportability and reliability.
Good oral communication.
Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
Good organisational and time management skills.Qualifications / Experience
Recognised PLC biased qualification (electrical/electronics), together with at least 2 years' experience working with a range of different PLC’s.
General control systems and safety system (Piltz, light guards etc) knowledge.
PLC Fault finding experience - Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi and Siemens systems would be desirable.
Capable of working unsupervised or within a team
Flexible attitude to work activities to help
