We are currently looking for a teaching assistant with experience of supporting pupils with English as an additional language.
This is a part-time, immediate start ongoing temporary role, paying £10.65 per hour.
The Role
English as an Additional Language Teaching Assistant
Working with small groups of students with varying English comprehension and understanding ranging from children with some English fluency and some who have recently arrived in the UK with no English language skills
Working collaboratively with the Head of EAL and Head of English and SENCO
Working 1 to 1 with students on speaking, listening, writing and reading.
Adapting resources for children with additional learning needs in addition to English needs.
The school welcome applications from English graduates and TEFL and ESOL specialists
To join us and be successful in this EAL Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:
Experience of teaching or supporting groups of pupils either in a school or college or in other similar environments such as Youth Centres, places of Worship, supplementary schools etc.
A TEFL / CELTA qualification would be beneficial
Have excellent communication skills and understanding of the English language
Have the legal right to work in the UK
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if you have lived abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years) and professional references checks

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
