Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 + benefits
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Landfill Consultant to join a world-leading, multidisciplinary consultancy, with an enviable track record of delivering a wide range of cutting-edge energy transition projects, as well as an interesting portfolio of more traditional infrastructure schemes. The team can proudly say that their projects make a real-world difference, delivering innovative sustainable solutions across renewables, recycling, education, defence, industrial and commercial. In this role you join one of the largest and most successful wase management, remediation, and ground engineering teams in the UK/ Europe, and get to contribute to a variety of regionally and nationally significant projects, alongside the company's core UK and global framework projects.
In order to be considered for this Landfill Consultant role, you will:
Have a degree, in a relevant discipline (e.g., environmental science, geology, engineering, chemistry).
Have a higher degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., contaminated land, engineering geology, environmental science, hydrogeology or similar).
Have a full UK driver's licence.
Be working towards/ preparing to work towards Chartership with a relevant institution.
Have experience of landfill site assessment, auditing and environmental monitoring.
Have experience in environmental permit applications, variation applications, closure reports and surrender applications for landfill and other waste management installations and operations.
Be able to demonstrate good understanding of the environmental permitting regime in the UK with regard to landfill and other waste management installations and operations.
Be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Be willing to travel and spend periods of time away on site for projects across the UK, as well as overseas, for specific projects or longer-term assignments.
Working as a Landfill Consultant, you will:
Prepare technical reports including environmental monitoring reports, audit reports and pollution inventory reports.
Offer technical input to landfill gas and leachate management plans as well as hydrogeological risk assessments.
Prepare and provide technical input to environmental permit applications, variation applications, closure reports and surrender applications.
Plan and deliver site works, including client liaison, preparing project HSSE plans and method statement, staff resourcing and sub-contactor management.
