Our client is a market-leading group in vehicle testing, type approval and emerging technologies for autonomous, connected and electric vehicles. They provide services and systems to customers in the automotive, transport, tyre, petrochemical and defence industries.
As a business they deliver regulation and homologation support, specialist vehicle conversions and test systems as well as training, consulting, audit and certification, technical inspection, standardisation and events.
They operate 8 test centres across France, the UK, the USA and Northern Finland, with a 9th due to open in Morocco in early 2022. They employ 1280 people globally.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Mechanically preparing and installing test rigs for Safety Systems testing
Setting up of High-Speed cameras
Set up data acquisition systems and record electronic data during the tests
Taking Pre and Post-test stills
Prepare rigs for sled or safety system tests to customer requirements
Mechanical fitting of test fixtures
Set up high speed cameras for test filming to customer requirements
Set up computer-controlled data acquisition systems
Collect data during tests
Setting crash dummies to customer requirements
Liaise with all business Engineer
Liaise with Customers
Work from procedures
Act in accordance with the behaviours of the business at all times
Person Specification
Qualifications
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or experience to match
HNC/HND in Engineering (preferred but no compulsory)
Experience:
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience
Engineering experience (preferable but not compulsory)
Welding and fabricating experience (preferable but not compulsory)
Photographic experience (preferable but not compulsory)
Skills:
Vehicle Mechanical skills
Computer Skills
Personal Behaviours:
Ability to work on own initiative
Good team player
Good communication skills
Other:
Flexibility to travel as and when required
Full UK driving licence
SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national with residency in the UK for the last 5 years)
Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check

Working Environment: Lab
Travel Required: Travel as required within the UK and mainland Europe
