Due to our continued growth, we are now seeking a Junior Project Manager to join our dedicated team in Crawley, managing and installing FF&E for educational projects nationwide. With a structured training plan to fulfil requirements and mentor you to become a Project Manager. You will be provided a generous basic salary with the chance to earn a further £5k from our project commission scheme.

As Junior Project Manager you will have overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, cost control and closure of a project. You must be well-versed in construction methodologies and procedures, being able to coordinate a team of sub-contractors of different disciplines to achieve the best results. Training is provided but the attitude to learning and progression is key as well as the aptitude to take on new skills including IT systems.

The Junior Project Manager will be primarily responsible for the overall success of delivering a project, reaching set targets both safely and correctly. With a dedicated Project Support to assist with admin, ordering and ad hoc tasks as directed by the JPM. You will have support from the wider team of Project Managers and a dedicated mentor.

Perform effectively within tight timescales, keep within strict budgets and create a positive client environment such that clients become/remain in a good relationship throughout the contract and beyond.

The Junior Project Manager will manage a set of service deliveries, which must be achieved on time to ensure all activities in the schedule are completed on time. To overcome certain tasks, the successful candidate must show initiative and be able to find ways to best adapt a situation to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective result.

Liaise with suppliers, lead times, order acknowledgments, deliveries to site and contractors.

During the running of the project, arrange day to day deliveries - creating outgoing delivery notes and completing the delivery on computer system.

Liaising with sales, design, pre-con, estimating teams. Contribute to the wider team to coordinate projects, resources and lessons learnt.

Manage the contractual responsibilities and communication throughout the delivery of the project

Manage the H+S aspects of delivery and installation of FFE on main contractor sites.

Essential Skills

Must have a grasp of the construction / furniture project delivery process and understand the strategies needed for maximum margin.
Must have some understanding of construction project H&S (CSCS, SSSTS, SMSTS), project control documentation and project financial management and contractual knowledge and communications.
Must be computer literate to a high degree of proficiency.
Experience in call handling and customer facing skills with sub-contractors, suppliers and clients.
Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities and site visits, meetings and workload.
Functional use of MS Office, Word, Excel, and the ability to learn and utilise sales tools specific to the company.
Able to demonstrate self-motivation to improve knowledge and skills through personal research and development.
A team player, willing to contribute to internal projects and the continuous improvement of our project delivery systems.
