A leading manufacturing business supplying complex components and sub-systems to a range of sectors. Applicants need exposure to strategic sourcing, NPI and have purchased across electronic, mechanical and aerospace supply chains.

The Senior Buyer will join a team of Senior Buyers, reporting into a Procurement Manager. This is an interesting, fast-paced manufacturing environment in which the job holder will work closely with stakeholders in production, quality and operational procurement. The Senior Buyer will effectively manage large, complex procurement activities and cross-functional relationships. Hybrid working arrangements can be offered.

Specific tasks of the Senior Buyer include:

Develop and agree contracts as required.
Proactively work with major suppliers and commodities to exploit opportunities for continuous improvement.
Procure across; machining, electronics, aerospace, manufacturing, raw materials and mechanical items.
Raise orders and other demand signals accurately.
Drive annual cost down and minimise supplier costs. Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

Procurement, Purchasing or experience as Buyer or Senior Buyer within manufacturing or engineering.
Be able to evidence strategic procurement activities - savings, value add, supplier rationalisation.
Comfortable supporting NPI activities.
MRP literate.
Experience with global supply chains
