The role of a technical buyer is to assist the procurement manager with the day to day running of the department.

Client Details

The client is a leading manufacturer of electronic products with customers in a wide range of markets from aerospace to bio-medical


Use Materials Requirement Planning system to identify materials required and then ensure that these are ordered and delivered on-time.
Create accurate Purchase Orders
Negotiate price and delivery lead-time with suppliers.
Liaison with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice queries.
Control rejects, supplier returns and ensure corrective action is put in place to eliminate problem recurrence.
Audit suppliers with QA and produce minutes of supplier meetings.
Expediting orders and minimisation of shortages.
Liaison with Production Planner to highlight problems meeting delivery schedules.
Identify new and alternate suppliers to ensure plan is met.
Create Deviation Permits and
Continually reduce material cost whilst not compromising quality and on-time
Negotiate improved terms & conditions, payment terms, buffer stock, free delivery and other methods to reduce cost of acquisition
Support in preparing data for monthly reporting to Corporate Operations.
Feedback risks and problems in meeting required dates to team leader / management.
Support the company values and the Quality Management System and Protect Company Intellectual Property in line with agreed strategy.Profile

Background of working in a manufacturing company.
Relevant knowledge of purchasing engineered parts.
Knowledge of using an MRP system.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Competent with MS Office software package.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressureJob Offer
