My client is a Special Purpose Vehicle set up in 2000 when it was awarded the A13 Thames Gateway DBFO contract by Transport for London (TfL) for the Design and Construction of Improvements and the Maintenance of the Road and Structures for 30 years.They also took over control of the Docklands Roads, including the Limehouse Link and East India Dock Tunnels, in 2001

Extensive improvements were and are being carried out on behalf of TfL to the 20km section of the A13 between Butcher Row in the west and Wennington in the east to enhance the A13 corridor for the benefit of all users, business, residents, and the local community.

They are now seeking an experienced and motivated Highway Maintenance Commercial Lead/Quantity Surveyor to lead and manage procurement, cost, budget and NEC contracts on the A13.

The scope of their project includes a variety of highways, bridges, structures, new build, refurbishment and maintenance projects with values ranging from £20M to £ thousands, working within a small, friendly, commercial and technical team.

Job Description

The role is full time, located in their London Docklands office in City Island, London E14. The

project operates from this single location and covers the A13 from Docklands in the East to

just before the M25 in the West, providing a huge variety of age and type of assets to

maintain.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an MRICS qualified Surveyor to take on sole

responsibility for all Quantity Surveying aspects of the concession. Their project offers the

variety, responsibility and independence that only a small team can offer.

Responsibilities

• Draft and produce NEC3 contracts and schedules

• Produce budgets and cost estimates

•Designer and contractor procurement

• Prepare bills of quantities

• Risk analysis

• Prepare presentations and strategic advice

• Present to Directors and Board members

• Work independently and accurately with minimal supervision.

Skills

MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint, NEC3 contracts, Cost Indices, Budgets, Estimates,

Quotes, Cost, Valuations, Payments, Risk, Analysis, Pre and post contract, Report

writing.

Experience

• Approximately 10 years relevant experience
