We are AMS. Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.

Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence. They are committed to innovation and the continual pursuit of improvement, and with a brand holding over 100 years of service they are now developing their technology capabilities, venturing into new markets and building their customer base further.

At present we are working on their Future Programmes Campaign and we are looking for 3 Gas Turbine- Specialist to cover an initial 18 month contracts on their Bristol site (Hybrid will be available)

Our Client's customers and the company have entrusted us to deliver the future technologies, people, processes and programmes. Successful delivery of these programmes will ensure both the UK and our client retains combat capability, ensuring freedom of action for the UK and enabling the company to maintain our market share in the Naval, Defence Aero and combat markets.

Key Accountabilities:

Gas Turbine Specialist act as whole engine integrators of propulsion system functional design, this is achieved by:
Gathering sub-system predictions of component behaviour for integration into system level predictions.
Negotiating sub-system performance levels to achieve optimum propulsion system level requirements.
To develop and maintain a functional understanding of the propulsion system e.g. compressor stability, combustion stability, control system requirements & behaviour.
To maintain and develop toolsets, models and data in accordance with the needs of the Project and the Performance function.
To define requirements, support, analyse and report on engine performance verification tests.
To understand the root cause of problems and to work with stakeholders to formulate and incorporate solutions in line with corporate guidelines.
To demonstrate an ability to continuously improve understanding and practices and share within the business.
Aircraft Performance engineers will interface with Customers, Government Agencies and Aircraft Manufacturers in order to gain a better understanding of the user requirements
Will provide independent advice on all aspects of Air Vehicle performance and behaviourSkills/ Experience:

You will be educated to degree level in a STEM subject and/ or have experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls). Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered. A Degree in Gas Turbines/ Aero Industry would be advantageous
Good appreciation of how a Gas Turbine works
A background in Gas turbine performance
Knowledge of C++, FORTRAN, Matlab and Python would be beneficial.
