We employ over 250 staff and due to our continued growth, we are seeking a Quality and Inspection Assistant based at our head office in Camberley. The role would suit candidates with previous experience of working in an Inspection, Quality Control or engineering based production or assembly role whereby you are testing components, receiving goods, stock or parts into site and where you are responsible for the inspection and quality control of the incoming items or components that have been manufactured or held on site.

The main purpose of the role of the Quality and Inspection Assistant is to be responsible for supporting general inspection duties within the Production Team, including carrying out specific testing, some inspection of components and finished assemblies, post sub-contract components and goods in materials.
The day to day duties of the role are below:-
Carry out non-destructive testing (NDT) including but not limited to, hydrotest, air test and dye penetrant testing of components and finished housings and casings.
Ensure that any faults found are recorded in line with company procedure.
Ensure the correct labels are applied to any defective goods and that these are kept in suitably demarcated quarantine areas.
Apply serial numbers to completed housings where applicable.
Complete all documentation required by the company administrative system accurately and on time.
Assist with routine goods inwards inspection on all housings, components and mechanical parts (e.g. sub-contract finishing, fabrication, tub cutting and drilling, machined parts, etc.) in accordance with agreed specifications and standards.
Assist with raising and receiving non-conformance notes (NCN’s) and customer concerns (CC’s)
Assist with processing customer returns as necessary
Assist with defect resolution and follow up actions
Make recommendations for quality improvements to other members of staff, where practical
Assist with ensuring all equipment is within calibration
Maintain the confidentiality of company and customer supplied technical information at all times
Involvement in continuous improvement projects
To be successful for the Quality and Inspection Assistant role you will have experience of quality checking, inspection and/or goods in inspection duties gained within an engineering, manufacturing or stock environment, ideally with the ability to read engineering drawings. You should also be PC and a confident user of internal systems and databases as there are administrative tasks to the role too.
