Job title: CNC Machinist (Shifts)

Based at: Deeside Industrial Park

Position reports to: Machining Manager

Job Purpose:

To effectively produce high standard precision machine components in the required timescale and in accordance with the job specification/drawing.

Core responsibilities:

* Programming, setting and operating 3 axis milling machines using Heidenhain / Fanuc controls

* Program offline using FeatureCAM

* Read and understand technical drawings (CAD and manual)

* Can work comfortably with a range of materials (stainless steel, ferrous and nonferrous materials)

* Determine tooling requirements for each specification

Role responsibilities / dimensions:

* Ensuring company health and safety policies are adhered to

* Must be able to machine to a high level of accuracy and work on own initiative

* Identify and load the appropriate programme for the specific job, referring to relevant technical drawings and job sheet

* Operating accurately and measuring to within +/-0.025mm

* Comfortable working to a planned schedule of manufacture

* Ensuring company quality policy is adhered to

* Previous experience of using manual milling machine is an advantage

* Skills set to include refurbishment / repair / manufacture jigs to aid machining and remake of machine parts as required

* Inspect own work to confirm it adheres to drawing specification

Candidate Profile:

* Time served recognised apprenticeship

* Must have previous experience of programming, setting and operating Heidenhain / Fanuc controlled CNC milling machines

* Must have proven experience as a CNC Miller

* The ability to use a variety of inspection measuring equipment

* Enthusiastic and persistent, with drive for continuous improvement

* Strong communication skills, demonstrable at all levels

* Team player, able to work on own initiative

* Organised and efficient; within a busy Machine Shop environment

* Flexible working attitude, where, when needed

Role Details:

* Working Hours – (6-2, 2-10, 8pm - 6am on rotation or if you prefer, permanent nights (TBC) - 40 hours per week.

* Holidays - 23 days per year (April to March) plus UK Bank Holidays per year

* Overtime available (weekday rate time and a half / Saturday rate time and a half / Sunday rate double time)
