The Service Desk Operator/ Receptionist role is based within our Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) business unit.

Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) is a global function, with our largest site being Lakeside in Portsmouth, but we operate from multiple sites around the world. BCS supplies and operates all IT, security, procurement, and finance Shared Services. We are embedded alongside the operations that we serve, enabling us to maintain close working relationships that support delivery to our customers. We drive standardisation, simplification and automation across Babcock, to help generate sustainable value for the group and our external customers.

The role

The difference our new Service Desk Operator/Receptionist will make

As a Service Desk Operator/ Receptionist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be providing a reliable security service to the RSME site across Medway. This includes meeting and greeting all visitors ensuring that appropriate security checks are performed, as well as working as part of the Service Support Desk Team.

Day to day, you'll be working as a team of 4, acting as the single point of contact across the RSME for the initiating and processing of all requests, bookings, complaints, enquiries and faults. You'll be responsible for issuing personal security and car parking passes as well as, processing user calls and requests within a Service Desk environment.

We offer flexible working to give people more options to better integrate their work and personal life, whilst ensuring that business needs are met. This role is a based at Chatham with weekly working hours of Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm and Friday 8am - 4pm.

Essential experience

UK driving licence and car is essential.

You will also need:

Working knowledge of the software licence life cycle from purchasing through deployment to decommissioning beneficial
ITIL Foundation beneficial
Previous experience in manging software renewal of other maintenance contract types beneficial
Excellent organisational and planning skills
Good understanding of IT and its relationship to the business with the ability to grasp new software licensing requirements quicklyLastly, you must hold or have ability to obtain SC security clearance.
