An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cost Engineer to join a leading consultancy firm in Bristol. You will work under the Project Controls team to develop, maintain and deliver timely and accurate cost data and reports for key clients. You will be involved in the establishment, development and maintenance of timely, accurate cost data, including forecasts, performance analysis, earned value, cash flows and monthly reports.

Core Responsibilities of the Cost Engineer:

Ensure alignment of data between cost and other disciplines within project controls.
Ensure alignment of actual cost of work performed and financial actuals.
Work with key interfaces to identify and understand issues and concerns.
Collaboratively resolve issues, implement corrective action or escalate as required.
Maintain project data within area of work, identify local issues and suggest resolutions or changes.
Support the project controls manager in the implementation and maintenance of the project controls processes for cost, including the production of monthly reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis.
Collaborate with other disciplines to help deliver project goals in keeping with the principles of Trust.
Transparency and Teamwork.
Produce and maintain accurate cost and case forecasts in alignment with the cost breakdown structure.
Accurately maintain all cost data for the programme within the financial control system including monthly actual cost calculations.
Co-ordinate and produce cost reports to a defined reporting cycle.
Assist in the accurate assessment of the completion estimate.
Assist in the trend and change process, including production of project change reports, analysis of cost impact and provision of feedback on areas of opportunity and risk.
Review acceptance and integration of cost estimates and forecasts provided by contractors and suppliers.
Assist with the analysis of earned value.
Adhere to project governance, cost standards and procedures.
Ensure all project documents are correctly protectively marked in accordance with procedures.Requirements:

A recognized diploma or degree or be qualified by experience.
A member, or working towards being a member, of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, ACostE, ICES, AACE or similar.
Understanding of cost engineering methodologies and techniques.
Understanding of earned value analysis.
The ability to reconcile cost information.
Experience across either Energy, Infrastructure or Industrial sectors.
Effective client interface skills and experience with the ability to offer project advice.
Good report writing and presentation skills.
Good IT skills
