We are excitingly recruiting for an experienced buyer to work with one of our IT clients situated in Normanton / Castleford.

This role will offer the suitable individual an integral role within the buying team to purchase products to market and distribute with their own discretion to coach sales and marketing to achieve commercial targets for the chosen IT products. Interestingly, no tech industry experience is required, buying experience is essential.

This is a permanent, full-time role. Hybrid working is in place to offer 2 days per week working from home as is a contractual profit-sharing bonus offered to employees. (37.5 hours across 5 business days)

Duties of the Buyer:

* Negotiating with vendors about pricing product deliveries and payment terms

* Promote products internally whilst collaborating with vendors to achieve promotional products and ensure accurate representation of product by the company’s sales team

* Coach sales and marketing team to sell products correctly and guide to area of audience to increase commercial sales

* Produce performance reports for all teams to assess commercial sales trends of products

* Locate new suppliers and set up supplier contracts for products

* Maximise stock turn over and work with any obsolete stock for the increase of sales and to decrease slow movement of product lines

* Review pricing of categories as well as assist with customer pricing queries

* Hold strong negotiation and influential conversations with supplier and internal teams whilst maintaining long standing commercial relationships

* Asses the competitor market for new trends to ensure USPs and product management is ahead of the industry pattern

Skills & Experience Required

To be considered for this role we want to hear from you if you can demonstrate the following as essential skills: -

* Previous Buyer experience

* Commercial Acumen and flair for commercial assessment during your role

* Strong negotiation and communication skills

* Some knowledge of shipping / logistics time-frames

The following skill set is DESIRABLE ONLY.

* CIPS Qualifications or Equivalent

* Information Technology hardware knowledge
