About the role of Care and Support 

As a Care and Support Worker you will join our team providing support to vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and some challenging behaviour in Lion Road. When required, you will be expected to work at our linked service, Cedars Road, which is based in Twickenham.

You will be required to provide personal care due to the needs of our customers to promote independent living.

The scheme supports up to eight customers. Each customer have unique learning disabilities, challenging behaviour, and individual care requirements. The focus is maintaining independent living and achieving social inclusion for our customers.

You will be required to work flexibly over a seven-day rota, including bank holidays. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours a week. Shifts are 07:30-15:00, 14:30-21:30 plus sleep-ins of 23:00 to 07:30 next morning or Waking night 20:00- 08:00 next morning.

This includes, if required to do so, obtain, process and/or use information held on a computer in a fair and lawful way, to hold data only for the specified registered purposes and to use or disclose data only to authorized persons or organizations as instructed.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience in a similar role is essential.
We are looking for you to demonstrate on your CV experience as a Care and Support Worker ideally supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
Knowledge of care plans and how they should be maintained is essential. All of our records are recorded on a central IT system. Confidence at learning new IT skills is also required.
Knowledge to on how to use a computer system is essential. You will be tested on your IT skills and the ability to report daily feedback on the resident you will be supporting.
To meet our commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to our customers we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring service, which will include a check of the Adult Barred list once an offer of employment is made. A new check will be completed every three years.
The ability to communicate using Makaton will be an advantage.
