Role: Finance Business Partner

Location: Birmingham - Hybrid working

Rate: £40k to £45k

Duration: Permanent

Sellick partnership are currently recruiting a Finance Business Partner to join our large and diverse Public Sector client based in Birmingham.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, you will provide a high quality and customer orientated financial and management accountancy service. You will work closely with the Directors and their senior management teams, providing management information to support operational and strategic business decisions and ensuring financial and budgetary control is being exercised.

Key responsibilities for the Finance Business Partner:

Prepare and analyse budgets and forecasts
Maintain financial systems and ensure budgets are entered accurately
Undertake periodic reviews of financial system data to ensure that transactions are being correctly and consistently coded
Assist with the production of capital budgets and forecasts, monitor spend against budgets and report variances
Assist with major capital project appraisals and post-implementation reviews
Carry out a full range of year-end accounting procedures and ensure returns are submitted to agreed timescales
Develop and maintain procedures for the costing of activities
Assist with developing financial strategies and contribute to the achievement of these through providing high quality management information and data analysis to senior management teams
Inform the Senior Finance Business Partner without delay of any significant circumstances that may adversely affect the short, medium or long-term sustainability of the portfolio's financial position
Provide general financial advice to faculty or professional service department staff Person Specification for the Finance Business Partner:

Fully qualified accountant - or able to demonstrate a combination of qualifications, skills and relevant experience at an equivalent level
Experience of supervising finance support staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and straightforwardly.
