Our award-winning service for families whose child has died suddenly and unexpectedly is the first of its kind in the UK.
As bereavement support worker within this service, you’ll be the main point of contact for bereaved families in the immediate days, weeks and months after their child’s death. Helping families navigate the various processes, procedures and agencies associated with sudden death, such as the coroner, police, hospital, social services, school etc, you’ll act as an advocate on their behalf and offer support, guidance and advice to make their life just a little bit easier during this incredibly difficult time.
Compassionate yet resilient, you’ll tailor everything you do to each family and each family member’s individual needs, ensuring that they get the very best support, practically, psychologically and spiritually. With experience of supporting people who have been bereaved suddenly, you’ll be adaptable and able to offer support in an empowering and family-led style.

Location: Russell House - Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part Time, 25 hrs per week
Salary: £16,060 per annum actual (£24,102 FTE) - pay award pending
