* Are you considering applying for Teacher training?

* Do you have some experience working or volunteering with children and want to gain some more classroom experience to strengthen your teacher training application?

* Are you a graduate that wants to build confidence in a classroom before beginning your teacher training?

Due to the increased requirement for the need of day-to-day cover within mainstream school settings, Maze Recruitment Group are looking to add enthusiastic and engaging Cover Supervisors to our team of flexible supply staff in the Doncaster region.

Cover Supervisors provide valuable cover for school teachers who may be absent due to training courses, meetings or sickness.

The role provides you with the flexibility to pick and choose what days you want to work and gives you an incredibly varied week; you could be covering in one school all week or you could instead work in five different schools. You could be teaching the whole class with pre-prepared work, or you could be supporting students in a small group or one-to-one basis.

As a Cover Supervisor your responsibilities would include:

* Supervising classes of 11-18 year olds, using behaviour management strategies in accordance with the individual school’s policy.

* Delivering lessons from a range of subjects, that would be prepared by a qualified teacher, with no planning or marking involved.

* Engaging with the pupils, keeping them on focussed and on-task, and, where possible, assisting with their queries.

* Communicating effectively with staff members and pupils.

* Dealing with any immediate issues or emergencies according to the school policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role you must:

* Have experience of working with children, preferably in some professional capacity (though volunteering with children also be considered).

* Hold or be willing to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).

* Be passionate about working with children and young people.

* Be enthusiastic, flexible, organised, punctual, professional, reliable and approachable.

* Be able to establish a rapport with children quickly, whilst maintaining a high standard of control and discipline.

* Be able to integrate into teams quickly.

If you answered “Yes” to the above, please do not hesitate to apply.
