We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Programme Manager for Service Improvement. The role will start ASAP and will be for 3 months initially. The expectation is that the role will be on site 2 days per week and the rest remote working.

This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at Band 8b Agency Capped rates c£310 a day.

Key responsibilities will include:

To direct and lead the Mental Health and Learning Disability Service Improvement Programme by working in collaboration with key stakeholders;
Ensure that programme leads are fully supported in their work and held to account for the delivery of their responsibilities including KPI framework, risk logs, controls and assurances around deliverables;
Work alongside the programme sponsor to ensure programme boards meetings are implemented and actions are tracked through to successful outcomes;
Ensure programmes deliver against their outcomes, KPI’s, budgets, timescales, quality measures and business benefits, as identified in their business cases;
Engage with both internal and external stakeholders, inviting their representatives to attend Transformation Board meetings, as appropriate;
Working in collaboration with key stakeholders to strategically identify, prioritise and allocate resources to programmes and projects, re-aligning where necessary.

The ideal candidate will have:

Significant project/programme management expertise within an NHS healthcare setting;
Experience of working at band 8b level within an NHS provider setting;
Proficiency of leading and delivering Service Improvement projects/programmes;
Experience and knowledge of Mental Health and Learning Disability services;
An awareness of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes;
Significant experience of communicating and working with staff at all levels.
