BMSL have an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their client.

What you’ll be doing

Alongside reporting to the relevant Engineering Group Head you will also carry out the following day-to-day tasks:

Manage projects from low to high complexity leading diverse multi-disciplined teams.

Maintain and develop knowledge within your relevant discipline taking responsibility for your own training and development.

Develop and maintain knowledge of the plant and systems and act as system manager with responsibility for the equipment reliability of systems using the core Fleet Engineering and Equipment Reliability processes.

Ensure critical equipment is identified and that correct preventative maintenance programmes are in place to prevent unanticipated equipment failures.

Oversee the System Health reviews, developing short to long term engineering solutions, defining Maintenance Policy, Maintenance Schedule changes, managing the Periodic Safety Review and lifetime management processes on their assigned systems.

Monitor and evaluate system performance using feedback from Operations and Maintenance and by conducting Plant Walk-downs of assigned systems. Ensure the Station Maintenance strategy is aligned with plant needs and adjustments are made to the strategy as required to enhance Equipment Reliability.

Provide technical expertise and knowledge to troubleshooting activities ensuring robust corrective actions are in place to correct issues and prevent re-occurrence.

Actively participate in the on-line and outage work planning process providing engineering technical input as required ensuring prioritisation of work is based on the criticality of equipment and its potential impact on plant performance from safety, reliability and efficiency.

Who you are

As a minimum, you will have a HNC in a relevant subject such as engineering or science (or equivalent). Candidates with a relevant Degree may have an advantage.

You should have a good understanding of conventional power/process industry plant equipment design and operation. You will have an awareness of relevant legal and regulatory framework and compliance requirements ensuring that all activities are carried out with full regard to Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations and company standards.

You should be self-motivated with a realistic “can-do” attitude. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as is the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and negotiate and influence effectively towards the achievement of business objectives.

Salary & package negotiable depending on experience but in the region of £50k - £55k
