Job Title: Senior R&D Engineer

Company: A Sensor Technology Group

Location: Cambridge

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Up to £65K depending on experience

Who is the company and what do they do?

Founded in 2016, this fabless semiconductor sensor business is developing and bringing to market sensor products built on patented silicon-MEMS technology originally developed at Cambridge University.

Using a unique combination of established silicon-MEMS fabrication and packaging processes, their technology platform enables sensor products with class-leading cost-performance and is ideal for monolithic, multi-sensor integration - opening up new consumer and healthcare market opportunities for gas sensing and fluid flow measurement – ones that cannot be served cost-effectively by competing solutions.

With the system always in mind, they are developing multi-sensor, IoT environmental sensing solutions using regression, clustering and machine learning techniques among others.

They are also developing novel core technology for future sensor products.

Sounds interesting! Why are they looking for a Senior R&D Engineer?

The group are expanding their capacity to deliver novel MEMS sensor technology and are looking for someone who can bring a new capability to the team!

That makes sense, so what would my responsibilities be?

Ideation of new sensor technology and product concepts and contribution of them to the clients roadmaps, in line with business strategy. Also, designing and developing MEMS devices for sensor products. This typically involves:

- Study existing technology and think of novel MEMs concepts.

- Contribute to MEMS wafer process requirements and specifications.

- Modelling & simulation.

- Validating modelling/simulation results with experimental data.

Okay great, what skills do I need to get the job?

Good question! Extensive experience of developing at least one MEMS device, with strong knowledge of simulations, wafer process development, device characterisation and device qualification.

I’d love to apply, how do I get the ball rolling?
