Due to growth, Smile Education are looking to hire an experienced Education Recruitment Consultant, we are based in Birmingham City Centre but offer a hybrid working schedule; we are offering a basic salary of between £20-40k+ (based on experience) with lots of opportunity for progression and high potential for OTE.
Smile Education are officially the current ‘Recruitment Company of the Year’ as recently announced by APSCo! We are 1 of only 8 national agencies (and the only independent midlands based) on the government education CCS lot 1 & 2 framework, we are also on the CPS framework and on the PSL to a number of MATs, meaning we have access to a volume of business our competitors don’t!
We have an extremely clear progression plan (14 different levels of recruitment consultant, + management opportunities) so we can offer what you are looking for with you career development goals and you will even be invited to gain an industry recognised Recruitment Diploma!

As an Education Recruitment Consultant, you will be recruiting teaching staff on a temporary and permanent basis for schools. This is a full 360 recruitment consultant opportunity which include cold calling and new business development along with candidate sourcing and interviewing.
You will need to be resilient and tenacious with genuine communication skills, being able to build natural relationships as this is key to any success, you must be extremely determined, self-motivated and goal orientated; be a problem solver and able to think on your feet with the ability to work under pressure hitting targets in an ever-changing environment.
This role will be split between office and remote working so flexibility is on offer.
TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES – WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Achieve set KPI’s and targets on a weekly basis
Using various business development tools to build relationships with schools
Recruiting staff using various techniques to do so, including writing adverts, sourcing using online boards, creating a strong social media Prescence and head hunting
Conduct telephone, virtual and face to face interviews with candidates
Work alongside the specialised compliance and admin team to ensure the candidates are fully compliant to work
Work proactively and at speed to fill your client’s vacancy requirements
Previous recruitment experience, especially temp would be ideal
Tenacious and resilient
Confident in communication and able to build genuine relationships with all levels of people
Comfortable working in a pressurised, targeted, busy and fast paced environment
Investigative in nature, experience of asking open questions
Committed, proactive self-motivated and reliable
Professional, sociable and friendly
Stable work history, be able to explain reasons for leaving previous positions
Term time - 7am - 5pm (4pm finish on a Friday) (7.30am – 4.30pm after probation)
School Holidays - 9am - 3.30pm
