Are you a natural when it comes to helping others? Are you looking for a local role that fits in with your commitments and comes with lots of challenge and variety and some really great benefits? Then make the move to Southdown as a Support Worker.
We’re a values based charitable business – a place where people treat everyone as they expect to be treated. Warm, kind and non-controlling, we let others live their lives. We believe it’s about how our clients think and what they want, not what we tell them to do. It’s about wanting to help others live their lives to the full.
Are you kind, caring, resilient and creative? We think you’ll find support work both stimulating and rewarding. You might have useful transferable skills gained in areas like the arts, hospitality or security industries. The key here is the ability to read people and act accordingly.
The real challenge for our Support Workers is to help our clients achieve independent living. That means supporting people with their daily tasks like cleaning and cooking and personal care – whatever’s needed so that they can lead as normal a life as possible. That can include being there for celebrations and good times, and it can also be helping someone deal with difficult emotions or situations.
