Water Treatment Plant Manager

My client, a leading international manufacturing company based in Birmingham are currently recruiting for a Water Treatment Plant Team Leader to join their rapidly expanding company.

As the Water Treatment Manager, you will be accountable for both individual and departmental safety and environmental performance; oversee the day-to-day activities relating to incoming water management, effluent discharge, chemical ordering, and equipment maintenance, and will act as the site specialist for all activities related to water and effluent.

Responsibilities of the Water Treatment Manager:
- Direct and supervise the work of personnel involved in maintaining and repairing water treatment equipment and testing water samples
- Ensure staff are fully informed and follow the correct methods and procedures to maintain safety and compliance, and establish work priorities
- Inspect the operation of the water treatment plant to ensure compliance with standards, making sure equipment is properly maintained, including proper use of chemicals and dosage
- Prepare, submit, and maintain accurate reports and records on water consumption and water treatment plant operations
- Carry out monitoring and control of all aspects of incoming water and effluent treatment, ensuring the mill operates at optimal cost whilst remaining within statutory compliance
- Be available for meetings/projects/working away from the site, for short periods of time, which may include overnight trips
- Deputise for the Water Treatment Plant Manager in his absence
- Provide on-call assistance on a rota basis

Candidate Profile:
- Ability to perform test suite for WTP assessment
- Previous experience reporting and analysing production data
- Communicate to all interested parties at a professional level
- Previous experience in a supervisory role
- Have a good understanding of the water treatment process (Desirable)
- Understanding of Gas and Fluid systems (Desirable)
- Understanding of Biogas Handling (Desirable)
- DSEAR trained (Desirable)
- MCERTS Certified (Desirable)
