Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Engineer (Life Safety Systems Engineer)
£30,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Permanent
37.5 Hours per week
Working areas to be covered -Predominantly Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and London

Our client are a Fire Alarm System and Emergency Lighting Company. They are now looking to recruit a Life Safety Systems Engineer. Predominantly required to cover Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and London, some training and works may require further UK travel. This role will include occasional working away from home however this would be communicated and agreed in advance. All travel, hotel and subsistence costs are met by the company.

The Role :

Initially to work fully supervised learning how to deliver various life safety system engineering works in accordance with industry standards and company procedures
Upon competency assessment, to deliver various life safety system and engineering works (Maintenance, fault finding, repairs,small modifications and additions) in accordance with industry standards and company procedures
Upon competency assessment to partake in the Company Emergency Support Rota and provide field repair works in accordance with industry standards and company procedures
To accurately complete electronic reporting in accordance with Company procedures & British Standard Statutory requirements
To continuously improve personal work skills through theoretical and practical in field and external industry regulated training
To always present and conduct oneself appropriately given the nature and importance of our customersMinimum Requirements:

Highly motivated, punctual & smart
A logical thinker, able to follow clear instructions and methodologies
Must have a strong desire to learn and be able to retain knowledge
A fluent and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
A safe, confident and willing driver, holding a full valid UK driving licence
At least 3 year's experience of maintaining, fault-finding, modifying, extending and commissioning a wide variety of life safety systems types
A good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook
A general interest in electrical / electronic engineeringPreferred Requirements:

Grade C GCSE or above equivalent in Maths, English and any technical related subject
City & Guilds 231 Electrical Parts 1 & 2 / IEEE 17th Edition / ONC in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Equivalent
FIA and / or IFEDA competency course passes in Fire Alarm Design,Maintenance, Installation and Commissioning
Previous knowledge and understanding of the relevant statutory requirements for working on life safety equipment, such as fire alarms,emergency lighting, voice alarm and fire extinguishers.
Previous knowledge, understanding and experience of working on life safety equipment.Company benefit:
