About M Group Services Plant and Fleet and your team

With 8 depots across the UK, M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions provide innovative plant and fleet asset management solutions across M Group Services. We provide our business with more than 9,000 vehicles and over 25,000 owned or externally hired plant assets.

Our team has grown rapidly and we are responsible for the supply and management of specialist equipment and vehicles, supplying the Water, Energy, Transport, Data and Telecommunication sectors.

As a Fleet Hire Controller you will be based in Stevenage as part of the Regional Operations Team that transacts all Hire enquiries relating to Plant, Fleet, Accommodation, Site Services and Tool requirements.

As the Fleet Hire Controller you’ll get the opportunity to:

Process all hire and off hire requirements received through the Plant & Fleet Hire mailbox
Liaise with the workshops to maximise utilisation of M Group Fleet from all locations before placing with external Suppliers
Ensure accuracy of Driver details, Hire Rates and Tracking systems
Engage with our supply chain to satisfy requests not supplied from internal stock
Actively review external hire reports and exchange external vehicles for available internal vehicles
Manage the external hire process, ensuring suppliers deliver/collect vehicles within the agreed time frames
Continuously review external hire reports and supplier extranets to ensure Key2 is up to date
Develop positive relationships with M Group Services Businesses’ and supply chain personnel
Be proficient in all aspects of hire management and general administrationWhat you’ll bring:

As this is an entry level role, we’re just looking for someone with administration experience and an interest in the fleet industry
As you will be liaising with colleagues, customers and suppliers, you’ll need to have effective communication and interpersonal skills
You will use need to have proven IT Skills with experience of Microsoft Office, as the role with require the use systems and databases
You are a team player and work well within a team environment
