What's in it for me?

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our well known client based in Alfreton as a Shift Manager on a full time, permanent basis.

As Shift Manager you will plan, co-ordinate, supervise, and report upon the work activities of a shift; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training, and development through change management in company values.

Hours of work: Rotational shift - 06:00 – 14:00 & 14:00 – 22:00. Monday to Friday.

Salary: £38,000 - £38,600 depending on experience, plus shift allowance and bonus

Day to Day Duties

● Plan, manage and adjust staffing levels to meet operational requirements.

● Direct the daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members.

● Deliver team member performance reviews, development, and succession planning as appropriate, and carry out recruitment and selection activity.

● Facilitate effective communication and drive engagement.

● Manage disciplinary and grievance issues (complaints) in line with HR policy.

● Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).

● Ensure company policies are communicated, applied and enforced.

● Organise and lead the focus on improved productivity levels.

● Ensure the shift achieves the production and performance targets required and contributes to the achievement of service levels.

● Monitor all physical aspects of the warehouse operation during the shift and take corrective action.

● Compile operational data and report on shift performance for the Operations Manager

Essential Skills

● Excellent organisational skills.

● Minimum of 3 years’ experience of team management

● Good analytical and numerical skills.

● Excellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skills.

● Excellent communicator

● Focuses on the needs of customers, drives the team to meet service levels, and collaborates internally to provide customer service.

● Supervisory, planning, organising, and interpersonal skills with a knowledge of Health & Safety legislation is essential.

● Computer literate.

Desirable Experience

● Minimum of two years’ experience in supervising the physical and operational activity within a FMCG multi-shift warehousing and distribution operation is desirable.
