Location of the Job: Deeside (office based with travel between all Manufacturing Sites as required)

The Job Role Details:
As a Technical Author you will join the Design Team and work between their state-of-the-art Design Hub. This role will be responsible for producing and maintaining the technical documentation for the product range. Your focus will be to ensure that technical information is always accurate and is presented in a clear and coherent manner for both internal and external customers. The right candidate will also need to be creative and always look to develop how we present and share our technical information in a modern digital world.
In this role you need to be prepared to challenge fixed ideas and find optimal solutions.
Creation and continued maintenance of manuals, accessory instructions and maintenance/workshop manuals in support of all products.
Key member of multiple cross functional project teams in support of new product introductions
Maintenance and administration of internal technical documentation including CE files, Technical Specifications and Engineering Libraries
Ensure that the technical documentation is kept up to date with all engineering change
Provide on-going technical support and information to other departments as required including (but not limited to) Sales, Marketing and Customer Care
Ensuring that all technical documentation is completed to company standards and are delivered within agreed timescales.
Continuously look to improve the way in which technical information is delivered and be prepared to challenge the status quoThe Ideal Technical Author will have:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar subject (although alternative higher qualifications may be considered or long-term proven experience within industry).
Technical writing experience in an engineering environment combined with a high standard of English literacy
Experience in accurately interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
An understanding of Drawing/Part release and Engineering Change Control processes
Familiar with CAD systems (preferably Solid works)Advantageous skills:
Previous 3D CAD modelling and detail draughting experience (preferably Solidworks)
Experience of using Solidworks Composer
Experience with relatable products and or engineering, i.e. automotive, industrial or agricultural/off-road engineering would be an advantage.
Experience with a graphics manipulation program, i.e. Photoshop or IllustratorAdditional Information: This is a permanent, full-time position.
Salary Package: A basic salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per year depending on experience.
