Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a successful construction-affiliated business in South Sheffield as they look to recruit a Head of Finance to oversee the entire finance department, manage a finance team of 3 and drive continuous improvement across the department.

The company has grown from £2 Million to £8 Million in the last few years and has plan to grow considerably over the next couple of years towards £15 Million. This is therefore an excellent time to join the company as the natural progression for this role is towards Finance Director.

Reporting into the Managing Director, duties will include:

* Drive commercial awareness across the business and decision making with insightful
financial analysis
* Operate as part of the Senior Leadership Team to drive strategic direction, operational and commercial delivery and achievement of business priorities
* Responsible for financial management across the Group - management and group
reporting, accounting, forecasting and planning, transaction processing and cash
* Lead and improve the business planning cycle in the business - budgeting, weekly &
monthly forecasting, etc
* Lead the finance team to ensure robust financial processes and controls are operating
effectively across the business at all times and maintain integrity of the balance sheet
* Managing the audit relationship, deliverables and review of statutory accounts
* Extensive knowledge of construction project costings inc. retentions, applications, WIP,
cashflow, CIS & Tax, as well as strong service costings
* Project-by-project gross margin performance (job costing) and combined Group gross
profit performance, including meetings with Project Managers as necessary to determine
correct current performance
* Responsible for presenting the business' performance in monthly Board meetings and
quarterly Shareholder's meetings
* Responsibility and oversight of all cash and bank receipts of the Group, including the in-house credit control management
* Lead the company's annual budgeting process
* Driving continuous improvement across the department

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

* CIMA/ ACA or ACCA Qualified (Qualified by Experience may also be considered)
* Construction sector/ contract management experience
* Good technical accounting skills
* Strong analytical skills
* Strong organisational skills
* Excellent time management and multi-tasking to work to tight deadlines and balance workload
* Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
* Excellent team leadership and mentoring skills
* Ability to influence others at all levels within the organisation
* Eager to assist in the continuous improvement of the organisation
* Self-starter with a positive attitude
* Sage systems experience (Desirable)
* Some Commercial & Operational experience (Desirable)

The role is generally office based 5 days a week. The company offers a competitive salary along with 25 days holiday + stats.
